A catch-all e-mailbox is one that gathers all the emails sent to inactive addresses. For instance, if your email address is info@domain.com, but somebody miswrites it and sends an email message to inof@domain.com, it will still be received in the catch-all mailbox that you have set up. Just one mailbox per domain name can have this feature activated and thus you’ll never miss emails because the other party has an outdated address or has made a spelling error. The drawback of having a catch-all mailbox is that you may start receiving lots of spam, but this problem can be solved by using anti-spam filtering software. It’s also vital to remember that a mailbox with an activated catch-all functionality cannot redirect inbound messages to a 3rd-party address.

Catch-all Emails in Hosting

In case you’ve got a hosting plan with us and you wish to enable the catch-all functionality for a given email mailbox that you’ve got in your account, it’ll take literally just a mouse click in the Email Manager section of your Hepsia hosting Control Panel to achieve this. A catch-all button is available on the right side of each and every email address that you have created under any domain registered in your account. You can choose one single address per domain by clicking on the respective button. This will enable the feature momentarily, so all emails sent to mistyped addresses will be re-sent there. Clicking on the button for a second time will disable the catch-all feature. If you’ve got activated email forwarding, our system will show a cautionary notification and you won’t be able to enable the catch-all feature till you delete the forwarding or you can simply select another mailbox to be the catch-all one.
